This was OK - but there was WAY too much butter. I think next time I make it I'll reduce the butter by half.

These had way too much butter. The brownies were not cake like, they were more of a goopy buttery mess. We really liked the maple topping though.

Never having made anything like this before I followed the recipe explicitly and used the 1 1/2 cups of butter it calls for. Three sticks! That has to be wrong. I ended up with a greasy pan of goo which is not edible. A total waste of ingredients and money. I hope this recipe get corrected.

I need 10 stars! MAde this for Mother's Day dessert and am always leary experimenting on people but it was a huge hit! Everyone raved and nearly licked their plates. Very, very good, but rich, so I suggest small pieces (even though they'll come back for seconds!). Used another recipe for the sauce as someone told me that there should be cream cheese in the sauce but I'm sure I'll use yours next time to compare as it looks just as good. Thanks for posting!

This recipe is amazing! I was out of several ingredients but decided to go for it anyway. I used mosty shortening for the brownie with just some butter. I didn't have white chocolate. In fact, I only had a handful of peanut butter chips. And I didn't want the nuts. So...plain brownies for me. Also, I only had 1/2 cup butter for the sauce. I cut the sugar to one cup and used whole milk instead of whipping cream (didn't have any). Then I used vanilla instead of maple. Okay, so I realize this is a lot of substitutions/changes but it is still SO good ... I will definitely try this the "right" way another time. (And with ice cream.) Thanks!

Sign in or create an accountI tried it, it came out wondeful, better then the applebee's version. I found if you added less butter the maple butter sauce, it came out thicker.

The blondie tastes great and is very similar to the Applebee's version. I have made it twice. The first time I mixed ingredients by hand (more runny batter and brownie like in texture), and the second time with a mixer (more like cookie dough, fluffier batter) and they turned out slightly different but both were excellent. As for the sauce, it also turned out great. I think the applebee's version is a bit thicker, maybe creamier, too. But this sauce recipe yielded similar and equally delicious results as Applebee's. I used both maple syrup and maple extract for flavoring. I don't think it was too much maple at all! I woul definitely recommend the recipe to others who love the Applebee's version, or anyone just looking to make a great dessert!

Perhaps I did something wrong, but the brownie was a buttery, fudgy mess. Waaay too much butter and still not cake-like. The caramel was OK, but maybe next time I'll use maple flavoring instead of extract because it made the sauce darker.

Very good! We are at a higher altitude, so it took 35 minutes total for the brownie to set. It's the closest I've tasted to Applebee's version! Nice job homegirl...

I made this recipe last night and it is delicious! I added the maple flavoring 1/2 a tsp at a time just in case it tasted too strong per a previous comment. It's just like the one in Applebees!

I had gone to Applebee's for the first time and tasted their Blondie, LOVED IT so much that I came home and looked for the recipe on the net. I found this one, and made it. The Blondie itself was WONDERFUL! But the Mapel Butter Sauce was a FAILURE! I just created my own after this one did not work. But the BLONDIE is MIRACULOUS!

I've never had applebee's version but this is so good! I reduced the maple flavoring a bit and served it with frozen yogurt. I love the maple and walnuts in this thank homegirl!

This recipe was tasty and I liked it, but I would cut down the maple flavoring to 1/2 tsp. It seems more like the Applebee's version that way.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! My son and I recently ate at Applebee's and shared this tasty dessert. We both loved it so much that I had to find a copycat recipe. I didn't have white chocolate so I left it out and it's still great! I subbed part of the butter with applesauce to reduce some of the fat, and served with vanilla ice cream. Five stars all the way!
