This is a recipe from Taste of Home. This can be great over waffles, pancakes, slices of pound cake or scoops of vanilla ice cream.
- 118.29 ml butter, cubed
- 3 large tart apples, peeled and sliced
- 354.88 ml maple syrup
- 4.92 ml ground cinnamon
- 118.29 ml nuts, chopped
- In a large skillet, melt butter. Add the apples, syrup and cinnamon. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until apples are tender. Stir in nuts. Serve over waffles or pancakes.
This is a delicious addition to pancakes or waffles. I reduced the recipe and used 1 large granny smith apple. It is a decadent way to start off a cool fall morning.
Very yummy! What a tasty way to welcome in fall. Made as written and served as a sweet topping to our cream of Buckwheat this morning. Thanks so much for the post.
I made this with my 14 year old niece today, well she made it while I "sous-chefed". She was quite proud of herself ;) We had it over vanilla ice cream and it was delicious!!!! Lovely recipe thanks for sharing.
