  1. I made this for lunch today, using a 50/50 mix of plain yellow mustard and Louisiana hot sauce in place of the hot mustard. I used mainly A1 sauce for the steak sauce and topped it off with a little 57 sauce since there wasn't enough A1. I used equal parts ketchup, steak sauce, and BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's) since I cut the recipe in half and didn't have a 1/6 cup measure (and BBQ sauce is my favorite of the three anyway). I also used 1/4 tsp. chili powder since I didn't have a 1/8 tsp. measure. My only complaint about the sauce was that it was a little too strong since it was mostly made of sauces. So, to calm it down a little bit, I added 1/4 cup of chicken broth. Made this way, it was the best homemade sloppy joe sauce we've had. Next time, my husband has asked me to add a little bit of minced green pepper. I will also reduce or even omit the salt since the chicken broth is salty enough. Thank you!
