This is a great recipe and I used it to top some fresh angel food cake slices. I could not find strawberry juice so I used the advice of another reviewer and pureed some fresh strawberries and created base that way (I know it is not as thin as a juice but it seemed to work well.). I did cut the sugar back as the strawberries were so naturally sweet that I just did not think they needed all the extra white sugar. Thanks for a great recipe!

We love strawberries and this simple sauce is delicious. We added it over breakfast waffles and enjoyed it very much. A plus to add over cake slices, pancakes, waffles, ice cream, etc., instead of jam. Thanks for the recipe. I tagged it for THINK PINK RECIPE TAG EVENT - October 2011.

Even if I didn't have literally hours of strawberries to pick and use, I would still go the extra mile to make this dessert. I always say as you plop down to gently partake of these delicious treasures, that the humble strawberry mixed with sweetness is a gift from heaven. In my opion this recipe really highlights every aspect of strawberry. Mixed with the sweetness of the "simple syrup" (water/white sugar) the color and taste are wonderfully highlighted. I served these just in a simple, but elegant bowl, with just a spot of fresh whipping cream atop. These are the kind of recipes you just dream about in the winter when it is so cold. Thanks, katia!
