From Sam Choy's Kitchen cookbook
- 4 ripe mangoes, peeled and seeded
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 cup yogurt
- 3 cups crushed ice
- 4 tablespoons honey
- black pepper
- Chop the mango, pour into a blender with the rest of the ingredients.
- Blend until smooth, and serve in a tall glass.
- Garnish with a sprinkling of ground black pepper.
This was a great breakfast smoothie that really brightened my morning. Rather than fresh mangoes, I had frozen mango. Also, instead of yogurt, I used vanilla kefir. The flavor was not too sweet, but very sunny-tasting! I tried one glass with the black pepper, but thought it really seemed unnecessary. Thanks for sharing!
Good flavour although the freshly ground black pepper didn't do much for me. It was hard to taste with the drink being so cold. I'd leave it off another time, not because it was bad but because it didn't do anything for me. I used frozen mango with a little mango nectar to be more juicy, freshly squeezed orange juice and lime juice, thick yogurt, no ice and creamed honey.
