Mango Iced Tea

READY IN: 15mins
Recipe by Redneck Epicurean

I absolutely love mangoes. And being from the South, I drink a lot of tea, iced tea in particular. So I decided to tinker with the idea of the combination of two of my favorite things. This is the result. You don't have to chill this unless you want to; just use ice. Also, the serving size is no where near accurate. I could drink the whole pitcher by myself. It really depends on your glasses and your thirst factor.

I love iced tea and crave fruity iced tea every now and then, but don't care for really sweet tea. I knew when I read that this recipe called for a cup of sugar that I would be cutting way back just because that seems like a huge amount of sugar. Anyway, I did cut it back to 1/3 of cup, but even that was crazy sweet. I 'm looking forward to making this again and just using the mango nectar only as the sweetener. I loved the flavor of the mango nectar and tea together. It was very refreshing. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  1. Heat the water and brew the tea as directed.
  2. Add the sugar and stir to dissolve. Cool slightly.
  3. Pour in the mango nectar and give a good stir.
  4. Serve over ice or chill before serving. I usually leave off the lemon in this cup o' tea.
