" Man" Rice Krispies Treats

"The man of the house loves Rice Crispie Treats, but he always complains that I don't make thick enough or enough of them. So I have increased the original recipe to an amount that actually lasts more than 1 day !!These are soft & chewy and will stay that way if you keep them tightly covered, like in Tupperware."

  1. Made these for a bake sale, made some with M&Ms on top and some with gummy frogs on top.:)

  2. Haha! When I saw this title I thought they had to be grilled or contain steak, or something. These are awesome! The complaint is very similar in our household, and so I chose this recipe. I made 2 batches of these for a bake sale. I used 26.5 oz. mini marshmallows (one 10.5 oz. bag and one 16 oz. bag), and they were perfectly gooey. I also got a gigantic generic bag of "Crispy Rice" cereal, and used 11 1/2 cups per batch. I also added 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp salt to each batch (I made each batch separately, not washing the nonstick pot inbetween). I kept it on the lowest simmer setting the whole time, and it took a long time for the marshmallows to melt, but that way they won't burn. Just to experiment, on the second batch, my husband and I poured mini M&Ms into it after mixing the cereal in. They melted, making chocolate "ribbons" throughout the treats. To keep them looking nice, I sprinkled some mini M&Ms on the bottom of the pan, spread the cereal mixture, then spead some mini M&Ms over the top, and gently pressed them down with a sheet of wax paper (so the shells didn't crack). Pressing the cereal into the pan with wax paper that has been lightly sprayed worked like a charm. I'm a long time eater - first time maker, if you can believe that! :) Thanks for this AWESOME, "manly" Rice Krispie Treat recipe! This is the recipe I'm gonna use from now on.

  3. Super! Very easy and made tons, which is always a big hit!

  4. very good. Are you sure 32 ounces of marshmallows? I used 20 oz. and it was plenty. I didn't have rice krispies so I used corn flakes and even added more than 13 oz. of cereal. great recipe. My 8 year old loves it.

  5. These had the perfect taste and soft, chewy texture, and I got my fill of them while there were still some left!
