  • Brown Ground Beef, drain.
  • In separate pan, saute Onion and Garlic in olive oil.
  • Combine Onion and Garlic with Ground Beef in stock pot.
  • Salt and Pepper to taste.
  • Over medium heat: Add spices and Bay Leaves.
  • Add the rest of the Ingredients.
  • Add water to taste (I use about a half to a whole can).
  • Simmer on low - med for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Break up whole tomatoes while cooking.
  • Serve over your favorite pasta. We typically use vermicelli or angel hair.

  1. This is fantastic spaghetti sauce!! I cooked mine for longer, more like 3 hours and forgot the sugar but didn't miss it so next time I'll leave it out on purpose :) Thanks for an A+ recipe!
     
  2. Excellent sauce...Had friends over to taste and rate and it was voted 5 stars! The only thing I changed was I used splenda for the sugar and added a wee bit of red wine....Made for Spring PAC 2010.
