Johnny Cash was my husband's cousin and I was lucky enough to obtain a cookbook of Johnny's mother's recipes titled, "Favorite Recipes From Mama Cash's Kitchen." I've been asked to post some of the recipes from the book and this is one of them.
- Melt butter in a pan.
- Add cocoa, sugar, and eggs; beat well.
- Add flour and cinnamon until blended.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Just before you think it's done, take out of oven (those are funny instructions to me, but that's what she wrote).
I was so excited about this recipe but found that I don't like cinnamon in my brownines. My friend loved them and I was glad. Thank you for posting.
I baked for 15 minutes and let them totally cool in a 9x13 pan. They turned out perfect, a tad bit gooey on top with the bottom perfectly moist. The cinnamon was a nice twist, I really liked it and never had that flavor in a brownie. Good going Mama Cash and thank you Mailbelle for posting!
