This recipe is wonderful! Using my apple peeler/slicer, it took literally 5 minutes to get together. Simple ingredients, no mixer needed. I used 5 Gala apples, and sprinkled a little bit of cinnamon sugar on top of the "batter" - my husband enjoyed the extra little "crunch" it gave. Will be making this again!
Easy and tasty. I mixed the apples into the batter (i used 3 apples instead of 5) and it came out very nicely. I would recommend using an oven to table baking dish to serve this as it doesn't cut out in a perfect square. (Not complaining for only one egg...)
I made this and it came out really good, thanks!
This was a delicious apple cake/kugel and was especially enjoyed by DH who has an enormous sweet tooth and this was exactly how he likes it. I also doubled the topping which worked out nicely.
This would be 5 stars, because I think I know how it's supposed to turn out, but because of the way it's written I gave it three. I sliced the apples and sprinkled with the 1/2 cup sugar when I realized that it was written a little backwards. I am assuming the 1/2 cup sugar goes with the oil, flour, egg,bp & vanilla..and that's the topping? I don't know if you can "revise" a recipe, but if you can, you may want to. I will try this recipe again that way and I am sure it will turn out as was originally intended. What I DID like was how flavorful this was and will try this again after apple picking next week. Thank you for sharing! LA
Delicious! Made this for dessert for Rosh Hashana, served it up with homemade parve vanilla ice cream and topped it with crushed sugared pecans. Did I say delicious? Can I say it again? Delicious! Thanks for making our Rosh Hashana a success!
