    the80srule's Note:

Although it lacks the portability of something like Yoplait, Dannon, Stoneyfield Farms, etc. it's a good alternative if you like a cup of yogurt with breakfast. Most are 6 oz instead of a full cup, so I decided to use that measurement instead. Except for when I can get them really cheap or need to carry them to school or work, I think I'll use this method to make vanilla yogurt from now on. No HFCS monkey business here!

Sun Crystals also make a good sub for the sugar.

Made a great light breakfast for a hot day. Made as written and topped with a sprinkling of granola. The amount of sweetener was perfect. Thanks so much for the post.

Very nice! I like that it's still a little tart, which suits my tastes well. I used Splenda in place of the sugar with great results. Served mine with a hint of cinnamon and some cantaloupe for breakfast today. THANKS! Made as a recipenap for Veggie Swap May 2010.
