This is made in the crock pot and a great tasting meatloaf.
- 1 1⁄2 lbs hamburger
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 2 slices bread, crumbed
- 1⁄2 of a small onion (chopped)
- 1⁄4 cup ketchup
- Mix egg, milk, salt and bread crumbs. Allow for mixture to soften. Thoroughly combine with hamburger. Shape into a loaf and place in Crock Pot. Top with ketchup. Cover and set to High for 1 hour then turn to low for 6-7 hours.
Made this for my visitors in crock pot while out all day shopping. Added 1cup of sausage meat pressed all the way through. Every one looooved it.
Nana, what a lovely recipe :),Yes I did do it in the crockpot, I only transfered it to a small dish to photograph and serve. "Hamburger"(Mincemeat) comes in a slightly smaller or larger packages (500g or 1 kg) in place of the 700 the recipe calls for and since I had a smaller one to hand I used that and kept all other ingredients the same except for a fraction less milk and ketchup. The result was tasty and it resembled an oversized Dutch meatball, the texture was lovely and soft and it held together well. This is quite kid friendly too, so please see my rating system, a wonderful 4 stars :) Thanks!
