This is delicious. I used some leftover brownies that I broke into crumbs in the food processor instead of the graham crackers. It worked out wonderfully.

My family always gives these treats high marks! They are sweet and gooey. We love them topped with chopped pecans and still warm from the oven! I use more margarine to form a more solid crust (or just firmly press it together), otherwise the graham crackers crumble when cut into squares. Tip: Per recipe, 4 oz. coconut = about 1-1/3 cups flaked coconut.

Very nice dessert (we don't like walnuts, so I subbed almonds for the nuts). It had a great taste. I gave 4 stars, because I followed the direction to sprinkle the crumbs over the melted butter, but it did not form a solid crust...it was very crumbly which made it next to impossible to cut into nice squares. Next time, I'll mix the butter in with the crumbs and press down into the pan so the crust is more solid, bake for a few minutes so the crust can set, and then proceed with your directions(kind of like a cheesecake crust). This was very addictive. Thank you!

I tried it and it was wonderful. My grandmother actually gave me this recipe. I only had white chocolate chips on hand so I used that and it was very yummy! My grandma's recipe calls for 1 stick of butter. Next time I will use the amount in your recipe :)

Easy and rich! They live up to the title, "magic". I always stock up on sweetened condensed milk so I can make these quick and easy treats when I need a quick dessert for guests. They taste like a complicated dessert and go great with strong, hot coffee.

Boy, were these great. I did add a few more chocolate chips, just because I love chocolate! Thank you MizzNezz for a great recipe.

Unfortunatly, this recipe is completly wrong,& was a major dissapointment.I have made the Magic Cookie Bars Many times,& my entire family & neighbors requested these,as they are a favorite.I lost my recipe,so quickly found this.I was a little concerned when the coconut did not seem to be enough,& with the "mix all ingredients".This is not correct.Sure enough, they burnt, bubbled up because there was not enough coconut to absorb the wet ingredients. Please dont make the same mistake we did,The correct way is: Melt butter, top crumbs, then condensed milk, then chocolate chips, then use 1 1/4 cups coconut, and be sure to PRESS them down well before baking.Unfortunatly,we both had a terrible result because the recipe had no correct instructions. When made correctly, these are amazing! Unfortunalty,I will have to start over again.

There seems to be some instructions missing from this recipe. They stuck to the pan and were hard to remove.
