Macon Hot Vanilla

"From the food writer for the Macon Telegraph. Use a very good milk such as Brown Swiss for a richer drink and also use the good vanilla. This is one place where it will make a difference."

  1. I made this for my son tonight. He loves it.

  2. I am always struggling to drink milk. According to my doctor I desperately need to up my dairy intake but milk just plain grosses me out, cheese is too fatty and soy milk tastes gross after awhile. This is a very tasty and wonderful way for me to get some milk down my gullet because it doesn't *taste* like milk. All of my measuring spoons were dirty so I guessed on the measurements and upped the honey and used a cinnamon stick to stir. I will definitely have this again. Thanks for posting.

  3. Wow, this is good. I would up the cinnamon and honey a bit, but otherwise perfect as is. Maybe try it with some almond extract next time . . . hmmmm. Or a bit of orange zest before heating the milk? Possibilities, possibilities.

  4. OH MY GOODNESS, this brings me back, but I don't know when to. I must admit I looked at it and thought this should be intresting, tasted it and my eyes nearly popped out of my head. I may have added a litle to much vanilla but i think that is due to me not having a steady hand. Thank you for posting Miss Pixie x x x :)

  5. It had a nice creamy taste, and I thought that it might be good to add a cinnamon stick in place of the pinch of cinnamon. (Adding both was too much flavor.)

AND that is the end of this. If the phone doesn't ring? It's me. If you are looking to ask me a question? I'm not here. I won't answer. I do not assure you that the ingredients, amounts or even the directions in any recipe under my two accounts are correct due to the bad directional pointer in the database that is causing problems with the amounts or ingredients. I will also NOT assure you they are correct when the site claims they are fixed. Use at your own risk. They will be correct on my site. End of story. Sigh..
