Recipe by Margie Brock
This has the most unusual taste and it is provided by the pineapple. I doubled the pineapple called for. Can't seem to keep it in my pantry now. Its such a favorite.

Super! This is very yummy and its clear amber color makes it a very attractive canned good. I made this by the recipe except that I cooked it longer due to the low quality of pears that I have. I used 4# of minced pears, net. I have made this several times and I like it best when I food process the pears to an applesauce-like consistency. I throw the pineapple in the processor, too. The texture is more pleasing when made this way.
- 4 lbs soft pears
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 5 lbs sugar
- 1⁄4 cup fruit fresh
- 1 teaspoon salt
