  • Put the pintos in a pan with water to cover.
  • Bring to a boil, let boil 3 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let stand forat least 45 minutes.
  • Drain and refill pan with water to cover.
  • Boil 30 minutes or till tender.
  • Meanwhile, chop onions and garlic (I use a food processor, so it's really fast).
  • Saute onions and garlic in olive oil.
  • Put pintos and onions and garlic into food processor to mash.
