Great creamy dressing you can use on fruit salad or mixed greens. Add a bit more sugar if needed.
Make and share this Low-Fat Poppy Seed Dressing recipe from Food.com.
- 1⁄2 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
- 1⁄4 cup nonfat milk
- 1⁄8 cup white sugar (or splenda)
- 1⁄8 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon poppy seed
- In a small bowl, whisk together salad dressing, milk, sugar, vinegar, and poppy seeds. Chill until ready to use.
I love homemade poppy seed dressing! With all the sugar and oil though... it isn't too diet friendly. I'm excited to try this... but I don't like mayo. I read online that yogurt can be substituted for mayo in recipes- Has anyone tried that with this recipe?
I liked this and thought for a low fat option it was good. It satisfied the flavor craving and even had a nice consistency. I used splenda and added a bit more poppy seeds. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
VERY, VERY NICE DRESSING! The only change I made was to use a generous portion of poppy seeds, 'cause I like 'em, but other than that . . . Thank you for sharing a keeper of a recipe with the rest of us! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in this Spring's Pick A Chef]
