First let me start by saying this is a good cake for what it is...very low fat and calorie...a way to almost have healthy cake! I love the addition of whole wheat flour, it makes the cake substantial. I did have a problem with the recipe. I printed it in haste and began mixing the dry ingredients and thought to myself, isn't this supposed to be chocolate cake? Where is the chocolate? I added 1/4 cup of cocoa to the dry ingredients. I thought I'd lighten it up a bit farther, and used only 1/4 cup light mayonnaise, 1/4 cup applesauce sweetened with splenda, and 1/4 cup unsweetened 100% apple juice. The batter was VERY thick, so I probably could have added a little more juice or some water. The finished product was a dense, deep chocolate cake that was more moist than I expected. I will make it again, and play with it a little more...maybe using less cocoa and adding some water for a lighter batter and taste. I served it with a scoop of fat free ice cream for the kiddos. All in all, this was a family pleaser.

  4. Bake for 30 minutes according to your oven.
