Very rich in flavor but low in fat. Use it over salads, steamed/boiled vegetables, or noodles.
Make and share this Low-Fat Japanese Miso Dressing recipe from Food.com.
- 3 tablespoons miso
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 2 -3 tablespoons dashi (or water)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (ground)
- Mix all ingredients with a small whisk.
I used this as a stir-fry sauce, and really liked it. I lightly cooked my stirfry vegetables first (with one clove garlic), then tossed the sauce through after I'd turned the heat off. If using for another stirfry I probably wouldn't add the recommended 2tsbps of water, this would keep the sauce slightly thicker in consistency - there was enough liquid in the stir-fried vegetables already (and this made the sauce a little thin). However, I WOULD add the water if I were using it as a salad dressing as it was definitely very rich (salty). I also added extra ground sesame seeds and a dash of sesame oil. Good stuff!
