A yummy alternative to higher fat versions!
- 15 ounces garbanzo beans
- 3 -5 crushed garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 4 -6 tablespoons water
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash pepper
- Put all ingredients together in a food processor. Blend until smooth. (Add more water for thinner consistency).
Great hummas. I added a little more than a dash of cayenne and it was great. I also used the juice from the can instead of water.
This is an excellent recipe. I was so glad to find one without tahini. I never seem to have that on hand. I followed the recipe exactly. Next time, I will start with 2 or 3 tablespoons of water to create a thicker spread. Thanks so much for posting!
