  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Pour boiling water over whole bran cereal and let stand.
  • Mix sugar with oil, beat in eggs and buttermilk, and add bran mixture.
  • Combine flour, bran flakes or Raisin Bran, baking soda, and salt.
  • Stir into liquid mixture.
  • Bake 20 minutes.
