This recipe has a lot less carbs than the commercial version.
Make and share this Low Carb ' Campbell's' Tomato Soup recipe from Food.com.
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon Splenda sugar substitute
- Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan.
- Heat and serve.
I really liked this, not sure if it tastes like Campbell's because I never make that but this is good and easy. I used home canned tomato sauce (no sugar added) so I doubled the recipe because I had a pint jar of sauce and will probably take this to work for lunch. I also used a package of stevia for the double recipe which might only be 1/4 of a teaspoon.
I didn't expect this to taste anything like the real thing, but I thought this was an excellent substitute for Campbell's Tomato Soup...I will definitely make this again. Loved it!
Very good but I didn't think it tasted like Campbell's Tomato soup. I did use less water & added in some shredded cheese. I will definitely make again.
