I like to have this on my grilled food and barbecue. It is adapted from a recipe by Bill and Cheryl Jameson and their book "Smoke and Spice". I just try to use it sparingly because I find large amounts of Splenda to be only marginally acceptible on low carb.
- Combine ingredients and simmer covered for about 20 minutes.
- Cool mixture and refrigerate until needed.
I was really hoping to like this, but it had too much of a ketchup taste or after-taste really. The consistency was great. I doubled the liquid smoke and that helped some. But I didn't care for the extreme tang and the strong ketchup flavor. I'll keep looking!
A fantastic sweet and smokey BBQ sauce that goes well with anything! Best of all it won't ruin your diet! I added a little bit of Splenda Brown Sugar to mine. A great recipe!
