- 2 tablespoons yeast
- 1⁄4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 3⁄4 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- flour (as needed)

- Dissolve the yeast, water and flour together. Cover. Let stand 30 minutes.
- Stir in water, salt, oil and enough flour to make a dough.
- Turn out onto a floured surface. Knead until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl. Cover. Place in a warm place for 2 hours.
- Punch down. Proceed with recipe.
