Loved this VERY SIMPLE recipe. It is just loose flavorful hamburger and the mustard and pickles are perfect. The beef broth really gives the hamburger flavor, and although I didn't use cheese on my sandwich, I think it might be what some think is missing in the flavor.
I was not looking for another "sloppy jo" taste, so wasn't expecting lots of spice like others did.
I am happy to give this 5* ..... we really enjoyed the sandwich.

I'm sorry I have to say this, but my husband and I didn't care for this sandwich. We both thought it was rather bland. I added some dried mustard, chili powder, and more garlic powder. I also ended up cooking the meat/broth mixture for 45 minutes, in order to reduce the broth. I also found I much prefer this served in hot dog buns, and with a bit of pickled relish rather than sliced dill pickles.

I did not think I would like this, but I made it for my dad who has been asking for "sloppy joes like your mom used to make" for at least a year now. (We are from MD, so we had never heard of a loose meat sandwich.) But they were actually really good! I only bought a pound of ground beef, but I wish I had bought 2. Thank you for allowing me to recreate this meal for my dad.

Forgot to review this one after trying it, then found it again when looking up something for supper tonight. These were great..the pickle and mustard are the key I think. Better than mamwich for my family, as I have a few who do not like "tomato" sauce. We have these almost weekly :) Thanks!

OMG. That is all I have to say. I made mine in the electric slow cooker on low pressure for 20 min and added some pepper. Was the bomb. NO KETCHUP. Try it, I think , you will be surprised.

Very flavorful meat! I don't like onions and I just gobbled them up along with my kids!! Reminds me almost like a Maid Rite from back home. Thank you for posting this delicious recipe!

This was really good. I was able to just throw this together and get dinner on the table in 45 minutes. The only change I made was to add about 1/2 tsp of worcestershire. That just rounded out the flavor. I will be making this again.

OH MY GOODNESS! This is so simple and DELICIOUS! The beef broth and onion send the ground beef over the top! And I have to say, steaming the buns........YUMMY! My family loved it as well! We will be making this again! Thanks Mika for sharing a wonderful new sandwich recipe for our dinner round! I'd love to know what you do with the stuffed potatoes you mentioned! :)

Wow, so simple, yet so delicious. My kids and husband gobbled these down and I may never make another regular hamburger again. We had lots of raw onions on top with the mustard and pickles and it tasted heavenly. Thanks!

This was just awesome, I followed the recipe exactly - including steaming the buns and serving it with mustard and pickles and even my very picky husband loved it! I also used the leftovers on baked potatoes the next day like Chef Wedemeyer suggested and that was great too! Thanks so much for sharing :)

20 stars! I love NuWay sandwiches, but I can only get them back home in KS. This recipe is dead on ....especially if you wrap the sandwich in waxed paper and nuke for a 30 sec- 1 min.( depending on your microwave) before eating. This makes it more "steamed" like the ones you get at the restaraunts. Thank you so much! Now I can have these whenever I want and feel like I'm home again!

We loved this! Oh my goodness...the flavor is fantastic! It was so easy to put together. I served them with homemade fries. This recipe will definitely be made often!

These are my most favorite sandwiches ever! And the most frequent answer to "what to cook for dinner tonight". Love, love these sandwiches! The simmering is very important...so skip that step and you must use yellow mustard and dill pickles! Yummy!
