Good--I did 3 1/2 c powdered sugar instead of 4, and 4 instead of 5 Tbsp milk, and I thought it turned out very good. I think evaporated milk might have been even better--I plan to try that next time.

Way too sweet. If I made it again I would definately cut back on some of the sugar. I will say tho that it held color very nicely and set very well on the cookies.

This was a great frosting for the Lofthouse-style cookies posted on this site by Tarynne. $ stars because I made a few substitutions: butter instead of shortening (and during mixing I ended up adding another tablespoon), and almond extract instead of vanilla. This was to compliment the addition of a tsp of almond extract I put in the cookies themselves. It says "serves 50," and I know people commented saying they had way too much frosting, but what they seem to have forgotten is that the store-bought Lofthouse cookies are heavily frosted. This recipe was just the right amount for a little over 3 dozen cookies. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
