- 59.14 ml butter, softened
- 118.29 ml packed brown sugar
- 78.78 ml granulated sugar
- 4.92 ml ground cinnamon
- 2.46 ml baking soda
- 0.61 ml salt
- 1 egg
- 4.92 ml vanilla
- 177.44 ml all-purpose flour
- 177.44 ml rolled oats
- 59.14 ml flax seed meal
- 59.14 ml wheat germ
- 56.69 g dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 59.14 ml dried cranberries
- 59.14 ml dried walnuts, toasted
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in flour. Stir in rolled oats, flax seed meal, wheat germ, chocolate, cranberries, and walnuts (dough will be a little crumbly).
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until tops are lightly browned. Let cookies cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool.

This recipe was exactly what I was looking for! Turned out yummy. I did make a few changes - can't help it :) ... pecans instead of walnuts (personal preference), added roughly 50% more butter, and switched out about 1/3 of the flour for whole wheat. I like this cookie because it's not too sweet and while cookies aren't health food (darn!) the flax seed meal and wheat germ made me feel a little less guilty.
