This is very similar to the "Easy Liver Birthday Cake or Treats for Dogs" recipe. It does have added ingredients however. The source is unknown . . . it was given to me by Greyhound friends of mine. All of our guys loved it! Warning: it smells awful when baking!
- 2 lbs chicken livers
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 2 cups wheat germ
- 2 eggs
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons granulated garlic (not garlic salt or fresh garlic)
- 1⁄2 cup dried parsley (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350º F.
- Liquefy the livers in a food processor; pour into a separate bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Mix until smooth like brownie batter. Spread out evenly on a parchment paper-lined jelly roll pan (1/2 sheet cake size). Dough should be about 1/3” – 1/2" thick.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes.
- When cool, cut into squares or other preferred shapes. Refrigerate in a ziplock bag.
