    Directions:

      Heat milk over medium heat, but do not boil.

      Stir in poppy seeds; set aside.
    3. 3
      Combine flour, baking soda and nutmeg.
    4. 4
      Cream together butter, lemon and maple syrup.
    5. 5
      Gradually stir in dry ingredients. Blend well.
    6. 6
      Add poppy seed/milk mixture and blend thoroughly.
    7. 7
      Drop by teaspoonfuls onto unoiled cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
