Oh my goodness I had a hard time finding this recipe. I was searching for 'cracker toppings', 'bacon & cheddar' etc. My friend makes this, but puts it on all different things and melts away... actually, it isn't bad cold as a dip (just a weird texture). She puts slivered, toasted almonds in hers and that is yummy. Thanks for posting this as I wanted the recipe and she isn't answering the phone !

These are delightful! Sooo good. I subbed in gluten free baguette due to dietary needs. This worked great with low fat mayo, 2% cheddar and centercut bacon. Thanks for sharing! L-O-V-E '12 Event

What a quick and easy appetizer! I used a mixture of different breads from our local bakery. I loved it with salt risen bread, yummy! Our guests really enjoyed these. We'll be having these again in the future! Made for ZWT4.

Fabulous!!! I couldn't find party rye (go figure - they only sell it during the holidays, lol). I used Russian Rye and cut 2 slices into quarters for 2 of us. It was so rich, otherwise it wouldn't have been enough for us. This WILL definitely be on our holiday table for appetizers. You can make it ahead and pop it in the oven at the last minute. Thanks so much Janice for a total keeper!!
