This is my Mother's recipe for a delicious fruit salad that is not overly sweet. She makes it often, but usually in the summer because then it is light and refreshing.
- 1 pint whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 (20 ounce) can fruit cocktail
- 3 bananas, sliced
- nuts (optional)
- Whip the cream with an electric mixer until stiff.
- Add sugar and vanilla.
- Fold in fruit cocktail, bananas, and nuts.
- Chill for at least two hours.
