Shrimp and mushrooms combined with a creamy herb sauce and tossed with linguini

Directions

  1. Cook the linguini and drain.
  2. Saute mushrooms and onion until soft and most of liquid has been absorbed.
  3. Melt the butter with the garlic and then stir in the cream cheese until it is melted.
  4. Add parsley and basil and simmer for 5 minutes This will be lumpy.
  5. Stir in boiling water, to create a smooth sauce.
  6. Add the mushrooms, onion and shrimp and heat unit hot, but not boiling.
  7. Toss with linguini and serve with parmesan cheese on top.

I thought this was very good ! A nice quick meal to help use up that bag of shrimp I had in the freezer . This was very rich and creamy and the garlic was perfect in this ! Not overpowering , as I thought it might be !

This was absolutely delicious! So simple to make. "Doctored" it up like Laura70 with a little salt and pepper and converted from metric measurements and made a smaller portion. This rich dish reminds me of a dish that would be served at a fine Italian restaurant! Thanks Chippy!
