Linda's Seafood Pasta Salad

"I love the flavors in this pasta salad with the addition of the lemon, shrimp and Old Bay Seasoning! I often substitute whole wheat pasta in this dish... I also double the mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning and lemon, adding half when I initially make it, then just before serving I add some more, so it isn't dry after sitting in the fridge for flavors to meld... Sometimes I just double up on the shrimp or the crabmeat instead of using both together... Either way, this recipe is a KEEPER for sure!"

directions

  • Cook pasta according to pkg. directions.
  • Drain, and rinse in cold water.
  • Immediately toss with lemon juice.
  • Mix in the remaining ingredients.
  • Chill for several hours.
  • Serve on a bed a lettuce.

Questions & Replies

  1. We love this recipe but I have a question... recipe calls for 8 oz of pasta... is that 8 oz in weight or volume (1 cup)? Turns out that 8 oz of uncooked pasta weighed on a scale is actually 2 cups. Also, has anyone tried adding dill? How much would you suggest?

  1. This is delicious! Thanks for sharing. I used shrimp, bay scallops, and some fake crabmeat. Also added a cup or so of diced cucumber, which complimented the other flavors. Thanks again!
     
  2. I'm writing to say thank you for a recipe that I prepare once a month or so. Everyone I serve it too loves it. I use "snow legs" in the making and I don't skimp. I like to add dried dill and a few dashes of cayenne. Delicious.
     
  3. Ok, I absolutely LOVED this! I used the full amount of Old Bay, and subbed green onion for regular onion (don't like it), and I used fake crab. It was fantastic, and I will definitely be making this again. I don't think the parsley is doing much for me, so I will probably leave that out next time. Thanks for sharing!
     
  4. This is such a hit at our barbeques. I used the imitation crab and it was just fine. I found imitation lobster and put 1/2 that along with 1/2 imitation crab. I also added a extra mayo as the pasta absorbs it and just added a teeny bit extra of the other ingredients. <br/>Everyone absolutely loves it! We will be making it every summer for sure. Thanks!
     
  5. Simple to make and a hit at the pool party! When i first made it i thought it was too spicy. I refrigerated for a few hours to let the flavors meld together and it turned out perfect.

Tweaks

  1. Substituted Old Bay with Kroger Private Selection Sweet & Spicy Seafood seasoning rub. Used scallions instead of regular onion.
