I make these quite often in the summer, and they are always a refreshing lil treat! I LOVE them! You may have some fruit cocktail left over, but that's not a problem... Grab a spoon and dig in! If using Tupperware Popsicle Cups, make sure you leave enough room to push down the cover, so the juice doesn't drip out over the edge, when you press down the cover.
- 1 (20 ounce) can fruit cocktail, with some juice
- popsicles, cups (plastic with handle, like the tupperware ones for kids) or paper cups with wooden stick
- Open can of fruit cocktail. Spoon Fruit Cocktail into popsicle cups along with a little of the juice, and snap on plastic handle (I use my tupperware ones, OR you can use paper cups with wooden sticks).
- Put in freezer and freeze several hours.
- If you are using paper cups with wooden sticks, wait until pops are partially frozen before putting sticks in, so that the stand straight.
- When ready to serve, run cup under hot water to loosen, and pull out -- YUM!
I don't think there's another recipe around that does a can of fruit salad justice as this one. Just ask my grandkids.
I made your recipe for Pineapple Orange Popsicles recently and saw this one, so I saved it to try. I made these and all I can say, is they may become a staple in my freezer! I found myself going to the freezer several times just in the afternoon! These are what I now call Pleasure Pops! I love the flavor of the juice in the cocktail and the nice crunch from the fruit is so good too! I never would have thought these would be as good as they are, but my neighbor had one and said, "You could package these up and sell em in the store!"
My kids and their friends flipped over these popsicles! They loved the crunch the fruit made when they bit into them. We quickly went through all the pops, so next time I will make a double batch. Not as bad for them as lots of other snacks, and and at least they are getting fruit! I tried one and they really are cool and refreshing and yes, yummy!
