This recipe is from a childhood friend's mother, Linda. She makes it for her family and I was lucky enough to be included. I'm not a huge fan of maple syrup so this is a very yummy alternative! (Yield is approximate.)

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, syrup, water and cinnamon and cook over medium heat until syrup comes to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Boil for 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in evaporated milk and enjoy!
  5. Very yummy on french toast, pancakes or waffles!

This is the recipe my mom always used to make syrup for very special family breakfasts. So delicious poured over a pile of thick steaming slices of french toast- my mouth waters just thinking about it! Thanks for posting- I am adding it to my cookbooks right now so I don't forget about it again.
