Classy Limoncello Martini

"Perfect for a warm summers night when the kids aren't home! Sweet, slightly sour, a perfect martini!"

 

• Ready In: 15mins
• Ingredients: 5
• Serves: 1

ingredients

• ice
• 3 fluid ounces vodka
• 1 fluid ounce limoncello
• 1 teaspoon simple syrup (see note)
• lemon twist

directions

1. Fill a shaker with ice.
2. Add vodka, limoncello and simple syrup.
3. Shake well and strain into oversized martini glasses.
4. Garnish each with a lemon twist.
5. Note: Simple syrup is made by combining 2 parts granulated sugar with 1 part water.
6. Simmer, stirring, over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
7. Chill before using.

I made this with my homemade limoncello, and it was delicious, but very strong (I am a lightweight when it comes to alcohol). I might try this next time with equal parts vodka and limoncello. I had a vanilla simple syrup on hand so that is what I used. Thanks for posting!

I made this over the summer and then lost the recipe. It is fantastic. I make it with my homemade limoncello and then add the lemon zest that I froze after making the liqueur. Bellissima!
