• Place shallots, ginger, garlic, soy, lime juice, and sugar in a blender and blend until smooth. Add the green onion and oil and blend until combined. Season with black pepper, to taste.
 • Place shrimp in a large bowl, pour the marinade over, and let marinate at room temperature for at least 20 minutes, no more than an hour.
 • Preheat a grill to high. Remove shrimp from the marinade and grill for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes per side. Let guests shell their own and serve on brown paper bags, if desired.
 • Cooking time includes marinading time.

 1. If I could give it more I would. Excelent taste Messy but oh so good. Next time I will take the skins off before to see if it makes any difference. Made for zwt6 for the Xrtra hot dishes

 2. I served these wonderful little gems as an appetizer for our neighbors. Actually, I made the marinade the night before, then added the shrimp about 40 minutes before grilling them. My guests devoured them!!! Thanks for much for sharing, Scoutie.

 3. best grilled shrimp recipe ever

 4. These were good, but the soy and shrimp were not my favorite flavor combination. I reduced the recipe down to a single serving and made as stated except that my shrimp had been peeled and I pan grilled as our weather wasn't the best for outdoors cooking. I liked the lime and garlic, so given the other reviews, might try this again with less soy sauce, and on the grill, to see if it would be more to my taste. Thanks for sharing Scoutie.
Hello all, being from California, I can honestly say I am a foodie. You can walk by construction workers here and hear them saying things like, So I used some fresh garlic and olive oil, then threw the rest into the pan to sautee. LOL I love all kinds of food, and trying to eat healthier as I get older, but still indulge in the occasional deep-fried food or sweet.
I LOVE this site! I have 3 or 4 other food sites such as Epicurious and Food Network, but I always come back here! The ease and all of the features just can't be beat.
Thanks Zaar and I look forward to participating more.
