Lily Twig Salad

"I have no idea where the name of this salad came from but it is delicious. This recipe is from my sister and is a hit every time I serve it. I have never had leftovers and usually find myself foraging in the kitchen to make more no matter how much I made. I am usually not a fan of sweet dressings, but this one complements the saltiness of the bacon and the tang of the cheese beautifully. **The amounts for the salad are approximate. Use as much or as little as you want to suit your taste. Prep time includes the time it takes to cook the bacon**"

  1. Yum! I loved this salad. The dressing was really tasty, as was the blue cheese and bacon combination. Thank you!

  2. OK, OK, so I'm one of those who would never seriously look at anything that included blue cheese, much less go to the grocery store & buy some! Well, perhaps I've changed my mind, if only a little, mind you! Made this salad specifically for my other half, who enjoys 'blue-cheese' ANYTHING! Then, I had a little taste & then another! Well, truth-be-told, blue cheese isn't all that bad ~ Not something I'd munch on daily, but not bad! And so, with all the oohs & aahs & ravings about this salad, you get a full shot of stars! 3. Loved this salad, everything about it. We had a very similar dressing last night and there was so little difference that I added a white onion to it and ran it through the processor and felt I could review this recipe with the dressing I made last night. The recipe was chef #41578 's recipe #31088 Anyway, I didn't realize the salads were similar until I went to make this one tonight. Absolutely wonderful. Loved the sweetness of the dressing with the sharp bold taste of the blue cheese. Thanks for sharing.
