Cake
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 2⁄3 cups sugar
- 1 1⁄4 teaspoons dbl act. baking powder
- 1 1⁄4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2⁄3 cup shortening
- 1⁄3 cup buttermilk
- 3 ripe bananas, smashed
- 1⁄3 cup milk
- 2 large eggs

Frosting
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 2⁄3 cup cocoa
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1⁄3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add shortening buttermilk and bananas. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Add milk and eggs. Beat for another two minutes until light and fluffy.
- Pour into two greased and floured round cake pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
- While cake is cooling, make frosting. Beat butter until soft and in small pieces. Add cocoa, powdered sugar and milk. Mix at medium, but you might need to add a few drops more milk if texture is not right. Lastly, add the vanilla, mix it inches.
- Frost cake when it is totally cooled.
