I tried this recipe last night; Me and my wife loved it
This was a great, easy way to cook fillets, even for amateur (or less) cooks like me! We did it almost as described, except I will thicken the lemon sauce a bit more next time.
Wonderful blend of flavors that made the fish taste even better than my other favorite recipes. The hint of browned butter is delicious.
I am on a low cal diet, so I didn't use any butter, oil, or flour, and it still came out really well. I used spray butter to saute the fish, and then just used the broth and lemon as a "sauce". It was not as much a sauce as extra taste and moisture to the fish. Overall, it was really good!
My husband, who really dislikes almost all seafood and I have been trying to eat more healthily and this is one of the recipes used for that goal. I have made it twice so far, the first time as written and then tonight with a few minor changes: Instead of just paprika I also used Old Bay and I added the zest of the lemon to the sauce and then thickened it with cornstarch so that is was less brothy. Final verdict? The resident fish hater said, and I quote: "This fish is REALLY good!" Thanks Chef for an awesome recipe that can convert even the die hard anti-swimmy thing eaters!
I love this! My husband said he will have it again it was perfect.
PS...yes there was a bit to much broth but you can use some of that on some boiled spinach. Nummy!!!!!!!!!
9/29/10 forgot that I had made this... LOL... well it was good again. It was a bit to lemony for me I may reduce the lemon a bit next time.
this was the easiest fish ever and the flavor was definitely there. I loved it. My hubby liked it. I cut the flour to 1/4 cup and the butter to 2 teaspoons total (I'm doing weight watchers). I'll surely try it again and may vary lime or tangerine for the lemon to mix it up
This was very tasty and easy to put together. You cant beat beat lemon with fish in my book. Thanks for sharing.
Loved the lemon flavored broth. I think my tilapia fillets were too thick, because they took longer to cook all the way through. I ended up adding the sauce to the fish and simmering them together. I will definitely try this again with smaller fillets.
