I used strawberry-lemonade mix. A bit dissappointed that it did not have more lemon flavor! Will tweak with more lemons next time! Easy recipe!
Fabulous cake to make for summertime picnics! I would advise putting newspaper underneath the cake before you glaze it, I ended up with the biggest mess of glaze which had rolled off the cake all over my glass kitchen table - NOT fun to clean up!
I will be happy to give this 5 stars. I like the crisp lemon taste. I only had the pink lemonade too, but it turned out fine.
This is my favorite cake. I have made it several times. I follow the recipe exvept that I add a little lemon juice to the glaze to give that little extra zip.
I added a bit of lemon juice to the glaze just to pep it up a bit- we like it REALLY to scream lemon! I can always use another lemon cake recipe and this was a hit.
This was great. I made it low-fat by using FF pudding mix, lite lemonade mix, egg beaters and FF vanilla yogurt for the oil. It turned out great. The only thing I questioned is the size of the pudding mix. I used 1 (1.5 oz) package (the large one). DH loved this he ate 1/3 of the cake the first night. He didn't even realize that it was low fat.
This is great! Taste is mild lemon, texture is similar to pound cake (that's what everyone at church was calling it). The glaze is lovely! I only had pink lemonade powder so it was slightly pink - but everyone loved it!
