I think I only had 1 1/4 cups of lemon juice, but instead of slicing extra lemons, I grated zest from the lemons I squeezed and added it to the lemonade (5 or 6 loosely packed tablespoons). It's so good during this horrible heat wave (100-degree days in an area where 80-degree days are considered hot).
Excellent!!! Super easy to make & very delicious, thank you for sharing!!
Delicious! I had to use 5 lemons and only ended up with 1 cup of lemon juice. I still used 7 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar.
I'm enjoying a glass right now.
this was the easiest lemonade to make ever. its sweet and tangy. tasty. just what we needed on a hot summers day!!
The branches on my lemon tree were starting to bend due to the heaviness of all the lemons so I decided to do some lemon picking. I picked over 50 lemons and was trying to figure a good way to use some of them up. This recipes was perfect. I made two big pitchers full for my barbecue this weekend and both pitchers were gone within minutes. Good thing I still have lots more lemons. LOL Thank you for this refreshing drink!!!
PERFECTLY refreshing. With an abundance of lemons on our tree this year (one topping off at 28 oz.), we've been using them for everything from garnish in plain water to limoncello, to lemon pie, and yesterday for your lemonade. With the hot temps we're having here in Tucson, it really hits the spot. I substituted Splenda for the sugar, but otherwise made as written. Last night we even tried a little tequila in the lemonade while star gazing--very, very good idea. Mom used to make it in my childhood, but I needed a good recipe for the ratio. Thanks for posting DiB's!
I just made this and it's awesome! I used really hot water to dissolve the sugar fast, and put it in the refrigerator to sit overnight. I tried it first though and if it's this good hot it's only going to be better in the morning! Great summertime drink!
