What a great appetizer! I made these for a Super Bowl party and they were a huge hit. The lemon-walnut pesto is so tasty. This dish presents beautifully and looks like it would take a lot of time and effort-but it was very easy! Thanks for sharing!

These are great! I used a whole pint of cherry tomatoes, cut in half and a tiny slice cut off the bottom so they would stand upright. I ended up using pecans instead of walnuts, but it was still tasty! I used a zip lock bag with the corner cut off to pipe the pesto into the tomatoes. These would be even better in the summer, when tomatoes are in season. My MIL couldn't stop raving about them. :) Very pretty (red and green) on a white platter. Thanks!

All of my favorite ingredients in one pretty little basket! I did substitute roma toms for cherry toms, but other than that, followed the recipe precisely. Next time I'll pick up some golden toms at the farmers' market and them with this recipe. Thanks for posting!

Really good, really easy, I made 3 little baskets of cherry tomatoes of them, and cut off the top, scooped out the inside with a tiny spoon, and filled with a pastry bag. I wouldn't want to try this without a pastry bag though, or even a ziplock bag with the corner snipped off. I follwed the suggestion to sit them on the stem side, and cut off the tops, which was great, they sit flat like that. I just ate all of the tops. Good one, looks very impressive too.

Made these for a starter to dinner on Father's Day. Made around 35 of them. They were a big hit, they were even taken to the dinner table by a guest and eaten with dinner. I prepared ingredients in a blender and found that I needed to thicken pesto, so I added some homemade breadcrumbs. Really very yummy. Thanks Ducky for a winner!

These little gems were VERY tasty! My BF and I just about gobbled them all up ourselves last night. Will have to make more for guests. I used 12 large cherry tomatoes cut in half. Fill each half generously with pesto and you will have none leftover (although if you do just nibble the rest up yourself - mmm!). I followed the recipe exactly as written (with 1 tablespoon oil) but I could see adding more lemon juice as well. Just an idea, a grapefruit spoon may help to scrape out the tomatoes though I managed to do the job fairly quickly with a regular spoon. Thanks Ducky for a great hors d'oeuvre recipe!

This is a brilliant appetizer! I had all the ingredients on hand and made as per the recipe, just adding some more lemon juice to taste - next time I might add some rind as well. Everyone loved it and the tomatoes vanished in record time - thanks for an awesome recipe!
