i found this to be really sweet and pretty slushy. I think that perhaps I should have reduced the sugar and increased the lemon juice and water. (As backwards as that sounds, the higher the sugar to water ratio, the more slushy the mixture will be because sugar is what prevents the water from freezing hard.)

I found this sorbet to be excellent. However, I might respecfully suggest that the author review the Servings section. It shows this recipe producing a 1/2 gallon (2 quarts). I couldn't figure out how 4-1/2 cups (1-1/4 pints of liquid) could possibly produce that much sorbet no matter how much air was whipped into it. Well, it can't. I ended up doubling the amounts on my second go round and actually produced 1/2 gallon in my 2 quart Cuisinart ice cream maker. Minor quibble.

I loved this sorbet. Easy to make and yummy to eat. I thought the flavour was well balanced between sweet and tangy. I don't have an icecream maker so just manaully stirred the mix every so often from the freezer. It was fine to do it manually. I am thinking of trying the recipe next time with Splenda (artificial sweetener) so that it is guilt free. Not sure if that will work or not?? Thanks Lainie

WOW the flavor is excellent but i do have to agree that it feels a little slushy. However i shall be making it again with a little less water as the flavor won me over. Thanks

I'm new at sorbet-making, but this seems to have a lot more water/liquid than most recipes. As a result, we found it to be a little too diluted (it was a bit like eating snow, rather than sorbet). I may try making it again with less water and possibly increasing the lemon juice and/or lemon zest for more intense flavor. Thank you for sharing your recipe, NurseDi.

The recipe that came with my ice cream maker called for an insane amount of sugar and lemon juice, so I tried this recipe instead. This is a winner! It was the right amount of lemon and sweetness. I added half a cup of raspberries, and I must say, this is the best sorbet I have ever had. Thank you!

Easy and great! My kids love it! I made ice cubes with the lemon syrup and freezed(then we can enjoy sorbet anytime we want).Put the ice cubes to a food processor to make sorbet, and this went well. Thank you for the recipe.
