Perfect treat to go with a cup of coffee or tea. I used Splenda in place of the sugar and didn't use the powdered sugar due to be diabetic. I baked in a loaf pan and it turned out very light and fluffy with a subtle lemon flavor. 1/3 cup of poppy seeds I think is a litte too much. Next time I am going to try a scant 1/4 cup. Tasty, but didn't indicate where to add the 1/2 c sugar. My daughter was making it and almost missed it but added it at the end. Seemed a little heavy on the poppy seed, but perhaps because of the sugar, it didn't rise as much. Very nice simple recipe though

Fantastic loaf !! Turned out great. I made a lemon glaze to top it off with.
