  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt.
  2. Add water gradually, and then lemond rind.
  3. Cook on low stirring until thick.
  4. Beat egg yolks and sugar.
  5. Add a little of the hot lemon mixture, beating continuously while slowly adding the rest.
  6. Cook 2 minutes Add butter.
  7. Cool.
  8. Pour into baked pie shell.
  9. Cover with meringue and brown.

This is an awesome recipe! Not difficult at all. I made the pie filling and used "weepless meringue" recipe # 20159. It was delicious! Thanks for posting! I like this recipe so much better than the pies using sweetened condensed milk, this is like my Mom used to make!

This is the same recipe I use when I make lemon meringue pie. I always get raves and requests for the recipe! You are right, nothing beat this pie made from scratch.
