A simple lemon loaf for serving with tea or for dessert.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (325 for glass loaf dish).
  2. Cream sugar, butter, eggs and milk.
  3. Sift in dry ingredients.
  4. Add lemon rind.
  5. Bake for approximately one hour.
  7. Mix well. Warm in oven for a few minutes after removing loaf.
  8. Spoon over loaf while still warm but cooling on cake rack. (After approximately 10-15 minutes of cooling.).
