Hot hot hot, and I didn't' use the horseradish. Love the idea of using mashed potatoes as a filler, but if you don't like the heat, use less than the full tablespoon of hot sauce that is called for. Judy

Thanks Little Wing! Even my finicky husband agreed this was a 5 star recipe :) Easy to follow and make! I had to use crackers in the absence of cornbread but it still turned out great!

This recipe is a keeper for sure! It is a great solution for leftovers. I used leftover crab legs and a leftover seasoned mashed potatoes from Honeybaked Ham, all I did was add breadcrumbs, and it tasted like a gourmet meal!

Great recipe! I had a lot of Salmon left from yesterday and I tried your recipe today, everyone loved it. I did not have dill and used dried parsley flakes. It is really good with a side of frsh lettuce and tomato. Kids love it too. I do not even like Salmon but this recipe made me have seconds.

Wow! This was great flavor, quick and easy. I usually do not care for salmon cakes, but the potatoes drew me to try it. I used crackers instead of the breadcrumbs, and instant potatoes. I ended up "dropping" them into the pan instead of being able to make patties, but they were light and perfectly flavored. Everyone raved.

These were much nicer than our usual cakes! I used tuna because it was what I had on hand, and regular bread crumbs, and it turned out delicious. The addition of the lemon and horseradish was wonderful. Thanks for a great recipe-- this definitely replaces my usual one!

Very good. I used mashed potatoes and hamburger roll bread crumbs then followed everything else to the letter. A dirfferent type of salmon cake but one I'll definitely make again.

Wow, I had to try this recipe because I actually had leftover cornbread and mashed potatoes and 1 lb. of fresh salmon in the refrigerator. I used 1 cup each of cornbread and potatoes and steamed the salmon. I left the rest of the ingredients as is. These salmon cakes were very yummy. If there were leftovers, I bet they would be great heated up the next morning with an egg on top!

I found this recipe looking for a way to use up left over cornbread. I probably made too many changes to rate it fairly, but I am giving 5 stars to the concept ... I love versatile recipes! I used tuna, omitted potatoes, added some canned corn, about 1 cup of breadcrumbs (to make up for the potatoes), 1 TB of mustard instead of horseradish, tarragon instead of dill, and subbed relish for the hot sauce. These flavours worked well although I think some horseradish would've been really great, if I'd had any on hand. Thanks for posting, Little Wing!

These were great. I used canned salmon and left over mashed potatoes. No left over cornbread but breadcrumbs did the trick. I'll be using this recipe all the time now! Thanks!

I think I made too many changes from the original recipe to rate it, so I just want to make some comments. I had some cooked fish (snapper) left over, and usually I make a tuna salad type sandwiches for lunch, but I was getting tired of that. So, I came across this recipe and I had to try it with what I had on hand. I did not have any mashed potatoes, so I put a small one in the microwave and mashed it. In place of horseradish sauce I used a tsp of dijon mustard, and I had no dill, so I used thyme. I put some panko breadcrumbs in as well. After making the patties, I coated them with panko breadcrumbs. They came out wonderful!! Thanks for the great idea.

Little wing, these were amazing. I didn't use leftovers. I used a can of salomon and breadcrumbs and instant potatoes. Next time I will plan better! Everyone told me this was the best thing I had ever made. I don't know how to take that! Thanks again.
