i found this on a internet site thought i should share. One of the men brought me a recipe out of a Texas newspaper for the Bar-B-Q sauce recipe used by Lyndon Johnson for his famous Bar-B-q's on his ranch. In all my life I have never had a finer sauce.

This came out sour enough to make a pig squeal, and like another review said, to thin. I cringed when I saw how much water this recipe called for, and how much vinegar, but I mad it as-is, just to see how it turned out I like a tangy bbq sauce, but this is over the top in my opinion. If you make this, I'd suggest cutting the water to 3/4 cup, and the vinegar to 1/4 cup... you can always add more vinegar to suit your taste. Over tart and thin consistency aside, I gave this three stars because the flavor was good. Made as-is, this is more suited as a mopping sauce, or a dipping sauce.

The rest of the family liked the flavor. However, it came out really runny. I had to pour it over the chicken. I was afraid of that, seeing the 1 1/2 cups of water. The vinegar was noticeable too, so if I made it again, I would cut the vinegar a little. I probably wouldn't use this for BBQ sauce, but to pour over chicken or chops. Lots of sauce that way, to pour over rice or noodles. Made for Election Eats.
