This smelled great in the oven but sadly the end result didn't really live up to expectations for us. The meat was dry and the raisins seemed out of place in this combination. Clearly from other reviews personal preference IS everything, and others loved this recipe far more then we did, so please don't let my experiences put you off at all. I liked the sound of the quick preparation time for this recipe. My only reservation was the inclusion of raisins which I don't much like. I didn't want to simply leave them out, so I went to the Zaar Kitchen Dictionary in search of a suitable alternative. I substituted cherries, which I halved. Apple would have been the obvious match but I was dubious about how it would be after two hours of cooking! I used baby carrots, so they needed virtually no preparation and added 4 halved cloves of garlic to the onion (we love garlic). I also added a pinch of sage to the lemon pepper and garlic powder. The chops were wonderfully tender and delicious, and the sweetness of the baby carrots and cherries comlemented the other flavours really well. Thanks for sharing this recipe, WiGal. I hurried home from church to fix this. I put it in the oven in no time at all. Turned my oven to convection roast and went back to church to pick my family up. Open the door to the house and the aroma was to *DIE FOR*! So in 1 hr 45 mins we sat down to eat. The pork was so tender you could almost cut it with a fork. I loved taking a bit of meat along with a raisin and piece of carrot. I did double the carrots and onion but fixed everything else as written. Thanks for a great Sunday meal.
